The Senior AlternativesManager Research Analyst (SAMRA) focuses on private market alternatives asset classes including private equity, real estate and debt. This position would have a specific emphasis on real estate coverage. The SMRA is responsible for a wide range of investment manager research projects participating in the efforts of the Investment Management Research (IMR) team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Research department in discovery and evaluation of investment managers within a variety of alternative asset classes
Work with Research and Client Teams to determine best candidates for client mandates
Assist with alternatives assets class market research and evaluation
Work directly with clients to lead investment manager research and evaluations
Communicate asset class research to clients and consulting teams effectively through both written and verbal communication
Maintain current with industry news and developments
Assist with special ad-hoc projects
The candidate with the best combination of the following skills, abilities, experience, and training will be considered for this full-time position:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Economics or Mathematics
Work toward Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and/or Master’s degree preferred
Five (5) years of industry experience in investment manager research or related endeavors
Strong analytical skills – able to understand financial concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel®, Word®, Outlook® and Sharepoint®Ability to communicate effectively coupled with strong interpersonal skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to excel in a deadline-driven environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Familiarity with research tools such as Evestment Alliance®, Morningstar®, Markoff Processes International®, Bloomberg®
Strong interest, familiarity and experience with alternatives asset classes and their specific attributes helpful
Candidates should be expected to progressively meet criteria for professional advancement and increasing responsibilities
